Book Review: Glittering Promises by Lisa Tawn Bergren

Danger is right on the heels of Cora Diehl Kensington and her family. Constantly followed and threatened by journalists and a mysterious man with ill intent, the Kensingtons consider abandoning their trip altogether. When they decide to finish the grand tour, a horrifying tragedy strikes. When the danger gets closer and closer, Cora has the feeling that the danger is something, or someone, far more frightening than anyone had planned.
Ahh, Cora. It has been a really good three books. Lisa Bergren has done it again: mixing danger, mystery, history, and just a touch of romance to create a perfect novel.
First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVED the cover. Really, every cover in the Grand Tour Series was fantastic; Glamorous Illusions was my all-time favorite book cover. Also, Lisa has this way of describing the places that Cora visits, it is fascinating, and I felt like I was there! Before reading this series, I did not really care to go on  a European Tour, but by golly, Lisa sure makes it sound beautiful, and fun!
I really loved all the historical tidbits in this book, the author reminded me why I love historical fiction! The characters are so well written, it is as if they are real. In fact, I can see myself being really good friends with Cora.
As much as I loved about the book, there was one thing that I REALLY disliked: The book ended! Oh the nerve, the author only wrote three books in this series? That’s robbery! What am I supposed to do now? ;) In reality though, this series is definitely in my top ten!
Overall, I believe this was one of the most well written series I have ever read. I just loved the setting, the plot was wonderful, and, need I mention Will?  This series will be one of your favorites for sure!
