Book Review: Unglued Devotional by Lysa TerKeurst

Are you sick of your emotions ruining your life. I am. Emotions are meant to help us to experience and enjoy life, not destroy us. In this 60-day long book, Lysa Terkeurst helps readers on their journey of imperfect progress, learning to make “good descisions in the midst of raw emotions.”  When read along with the book, this devotional can greatly enhance the overall effect of the book (Unglued).  With relatable stories and struggles for the everyday woman, this book is a perfect addition to your devotional library.
I liked this book. The concise chapters, or days, are nicely written, as well as being manageable. I loved Lysa’s down-to-earth personality, and she really showed how while we are all imperfect, we can always make progress. This was great for me to hear, because I tend to want to make perfect progress immediately. She shares how it is OK to mess up; it means you are at least giving an effort towards controlling your emotions. My only critique for this devotional is that it is slightly repetitive of the original book, not completely, but there are a few similarities.
Overall, I think this book is a wonderful add-on to the book, Unglued, and you should definitely consider adding it to your bookshelf.
The publisher gave me this book in exchange for an honest review.
