Easter Happiness

{Dress: Old Navy-Sandals:Target- Bolero:Kohls-Headband:Cato- Bracelets + Ring :Kari Jobe}

 For Easter, my entire family loves dying eggs. It is one of our {favorite} traditions

About two years ago, I discovered how to "batik" eggs- and since then, me and my sisters love doing them! {we use tape and dye :) }

I think this is one of my favorite traditions! I am known as the "Egg Jedi"  because my eggs are always take the longest, and I usually try and eat my sisters' eggs so that I will not have to crack mine.

My Easter was so great. We went to church, and many people gave their testimonies. We then went to my grandparent's house, and ate ham, scalloped potatoes, and about 546 different forms of sugar. I ate a lot of Peeps. Which are mi favorito. I am so blessed.

What was the best part about your Easter?

The Truth About {Modesty}Part 1

(via Google)
     What is modesty? Most people would think of an old, cranky lady, wearing something of a burlap sack, and nit-picking every item of clothing that wasn't like hers. That is not modesty. Modesty is a way that we, as daughters of the most high God AND the spouse/future spouse of a wonderful gentleman, can attract attention away from our figures, and towards our awesome God!
   Immodest clothing is a problem with women, and especially teenagers. Low-cut shirts, skin-tight shirts, and see-through shirts are becoming more and more accepted by the average female. Even mature women continue to try to dress this way even with God’s dislike of
immodest clothes. Song of Solomon 8:4 says, “Daughters of Jerusalem, I charge you: Do not arouse or awaken love until it so desires.” When women wear a shirt that is too tight, or a skirt that is too short, they are arousing things in the men who see them that should still be sleeping. When something is cooking, and you take it out of the oven before the time it is supposed to, you can create a disaster! It will not be nearly as good as it would have been if you had left it in the oven or, “asleep,” until the right time.
     When a woman decides to wear immodest clothing, they are not only exposing themselves to EVERYONE in the world, they are also causing their brother in Christ to stumble. Of course, Christian men should have self-control, but as ladies, we can make it so difficult to maintain.  Imagine this scenario:
 You are on a diet, which you started less than a week ago; you really felt this diet would be a great thing for you. So far, you have done well, and you have not eaten anything except salad. Then your friend calls, “Want to go out to lunch?” You agree, and you suggest saladtopia. Your pal says that nothing is wrong with saladtopia, but he thinks it would be fun to go to McDonalds; since it had many choices including salad. You hesitantly agree, and the date is set. When you get to McDonalds, you quickly order a salad. As you sit down, your friend walks over to the table with a Big Mac, a large fry, a large sweet tea, and an apple pie. You sit twirling your salad pretending the slimy green leaves were French fries…it is not working. Your friend asks, “Wanna fry? I have plenty!” Just one, you think to yourself. Before you know it, you have consumed the entire box.
     As ladies, we have the ability to make or break a guy, and the above scenario shows us the degree of difficulty a guy can have when fighting the temptation of lust. So, what clothing is modest? While there is not a specific modesty code for everyone, the two basic guidelines I use are:
·         No skin-tight clothes. The best type of clothing is not to the point where you can see every curve. I tend to lean on the side of wearing small tents, but that is totally a matter of opinionJ.  The saying I have always heard is this, “Clothes should be fitted enough to show that you are a woman, but loose enough to show you are a lady.” If you aren’t sure, ask your brother or father if they think the shirt/skirt/pants/dress is too tight.
·         None of the three “B”s. You should not be showing the skin of your belly, bottom, or breasts. If any of these are showing, then the outfit is most likely{ In fact, really likely} immodest.
No skirts above the knee, no shorts more than a couple of inches above the knee, no see through shirts, no undergarments showing, etc.
For more opinions on modesty, check out the modesty survey here.

    Modesty does not mean "unfashionable." There are  so many ways to remain modest, all the while remaining with fashionable clothing. While it may take more effort in a clothing store, it is possible! With today's accessory obsession, there are scarves, shoes and jewelry that add many dimensions to any outfit, and a smile adds more natural beauty to an outfit then any miniskirt ever could!
     In all, I hope that God reveals his standard of modesty to you as his perfect plan for our life.
Sincerely,
Libbi H.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Eshakti: Fashionably Fitting

     Have you ever gone to the store, picked out a lovely dress, fell in love with it, only to find out it is too small on your arms, or too big in the rear, or it fits terribly all the way around? This was a common problem in the lives of girls everywhere. Then, eshakti arrived to save the day! Eshakti is every lady's dream; clothes that fit you, without any "misfits". eshakti let's you measure a few basic areas (waist, bust, hips, torso, etc.) and when you input that information, they make a clothing item perfectly suited to your figure. Perfectly. Not only this, but you can customize the length of the garment, the neckline, the sleeves, and many other parts of the clothing. A few words from Jennifer,

Some of their their many stunning clothing items (made to order :) are:

     Eshakti let me choose one of their fabulous items to review, so, without hesitation I accepted. Here are the pictures!

I absolutely adore eShakti *staring at dress drooling* It is a wonderful invention. My dress fit absolutely perfectly, it couldn't have fit better! Not to mention it had pockets! Take the most wonderful, versatile, beautiful, comfortable dress you have, multiply it by two pockets and 100, and you will have an idea how much I love this dress. I received a lot of compliments today, and it has stood the test of sitting down, standing up, jumping up and down, kneeling, and about every other exercise as well! I disliked NOTHING about eshakti. I adored the intricate details: the scalloped hem, rickrack trim, and overall beauty were great aspects of this dress! I will definitely be purchasing from them in the near future (think, graduation dress) I would highly recommend eshakti and their products to anyone who wears clothes. Really, they are that fantastic! Until next time, my dear friends, enjoy life, eat marshmallows, and buy a dress from eShakti!

The Truth About Swimsuits.

By this time of the year, every female being is searching for a swimsuit that is cute, and fits perfectly. Through all this shopping, many of us tend to forget modesty within the search. My whole life I have a a mindset that swimsuits just have a different design then clothes. They are nearly always modest with a skirt over them. I was wrong. I never realized that swimsuits are no different then clothes when considering modesty.A Bikini and Bikini bottoms show just as much skin as wearing just a bra and underwear. Consider these quotes from guys when considering bikinis.

      "When you're basically wearing underwear (or less than that) all you do is show off your body. 99 percent of guys see all of you, regardless of what body parts you think you're covering, when you wear that kind of swimsuit."
     "These are as immodest as they get. Please stay away from these; they show way too much skin and act as a stumbling block to guys."
     " From a guy's standpoint there is no difference between walking around in a bikini and walking around in your underwear. There might be a difference, but to a guy, there is not. That is how revealing it is to a guy"

(All quotes are from the Modesty Survey, and these quotes are from ages 17-40)
      As you can see, in a guy's mind there is no difference to a guy between a bra and a bikini. Even  if it is a yellow polka-dotted one *tear* As young ladies, we don't want to be treated like trash. but if we walk around in our less-than-underwear bikinis, it is hard for us NOT to be treated that way. My standard for modesty regarding swimsuits is due in part to "The Lost Art of True Beauty." Basically, keep everything you wouldn't show at church covered :)
