Interview with Natasha Atkerson!

 I was able to do a fantastic interview with Natasha Atkerson from What I wear, What I do, and Why I did it. Here is the interview for everyone! Natasha was very agreeable, and fun to interview! :)

~So Natasha, how have you been doing?
I'm doing well, thank you for asking!

~FFW 11 concluded about a month ago, are you planning on doing another in the future?
So far I've hosted three modest fashion weeks. I'm currently working on another fashion week with a blog friend Ashley, from www.bramblewoodfashion.blogspot.com. I can't release any details yet, but I know it will be sometime in April.

~ Do you have any fashion tips for making awesome outfits?
Don't conform to the world's standards of whats 'in'. If you like the outfit, go for it! Don't let anyone tell you that your outfits not awesome, it is! True style is personal, and doesn't rely on what the latest fashion rule tells you.

~Coffee or Chai?
Coffee (but only if its girly coffee such as a Java Chip Frauppachino).

~ If you could make a new law in America, what would that law be?
Gosh, there are so many new laws enacted by our government right now. I guess a law against big government. I wish the people had more say. I guess that's not really a law, but its what I'd change.

~ How are you using your blog for God's glory?
I try very hard to display God's standards of modesty, and help young and older women alike to dress in CUTE modest fashion. Our society has given modesty a bad rep! And its highly undeserved! Modesty can, and is something attainable for everyone.
I also try to tell people things that God lays on my heart. Most recently the subject of being negative about things we can't change.
~Do you know what you want to do for the future?
Ha! Ha! I hate that question! : ) But that's okay, hard questions are good sometimes!
I have so many interests that I can't pick one that I'd like to pursue as an occupation.
My ultimate is marriage. I love kids! And I hope to marry someday, if its God's will. Until then? Who knows! I'll keep following God, because I know He'll lead me to the right career (or husband) at the right time.

~What is your favorite scripture?
Hebrews 12:14-15
"Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness spring up, cause trouble and by this many become defiled." Its a good reminder to get along with everyone not just people you like, or are easy to get along with.

~If you could say one thing to the readers of this blog, what would it be?
Hold fast to your beliefs, and never let people look down on you because your young. God can use you in a great way if you let Him.

~ White, Dark, or Milk chocolate?
Milk Chocolate, ALL THE WAY!

~ Where do you find most of the clothes you wear on your blog?
A Majority of my clothing comes from thrift shops. This is a great way to find unique, cute pieces, without breaking your budget. I also get a lot of my clothes from retail stores on sale. If your looking to get new pieces (for whatever reason, be it because your mom doesn't like thrift shops, or you don't) shop sales. I usually wait till they go on 70% off or more. Maurices, Vanity, JcPenney, and Ross are some of my favorite stores to shop for sales items at. By the way, one more tip! Don't buy it just because its $5, that's a waste of money, and you won't be happy you spent it later!

~ What is your #1 modesty tip?
Let God lead you in every aspect of your wardrobe. Your modesty is between you and God, and He'll let you know if your wearing something You shouldn't be. Remember that time you looked in the mirror and thought, "I think my shirts too tight"? that was God! So listen!
One more! (yes, I'm long winded!) Tank tops are your absolute best friend, use them!

Thank you so much Natasha for agreeing to do the interview! Natasha has an awesome blog, { What I wear, What I do, and Why I did it} so make sure to check it out and become a follower :)
Sincerely,

So, are you excited yet?

Tomorrow will be the official 1st day of.......My Super Sweet 16 Giveaway party! Huzzah!
Sincerely,

The Spectacular Macrocosm { or, in more understandableness, the Universe}

I have {always} had a thing for space, but especially stars and nebulae. It is so amazing to me at how small we really are!
Can you believe this is really out there somewhere? And it's like, huge!

Genesis 1:1

                           In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Nehemiah 9:6

You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.

Psalm 102:25

In the beginning you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

Psalm 8:1-4
For the director of music. According to gittith. A psalm of David.

 LORD, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory

in the heavens.

 Through the praise of children and infants

you have established a stronghold against your enemies,

to silence the foe and the avenger.

 When I consider your heavens,

the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars,

which you have set in place,

 what is mankind that you are mindful of them,

human beings that you care for them?

Psalm 19: 1-6
The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of his hands.

 Day after day they pour forth speech;

night after night they reveal knowledge.

 They have no speech, they use no words;

no sound is heard from them.

 Yet their voice goes out into all the earth,

their words to the ends of the world.

In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun.

 It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber,

like a champion rejoicing to run his course.

It rises at one end of the heavens

and makes its circuit to the other;

nothing is deprived of its warmth.

Sincerely,

Joy :)

The Truth About Dating Love & Just Being Friends...and how NOT to be MISERABLE as a TEENAGER because life is short, and seriously things don't MAGICALLY get BETTER after high school and lots of other important stuff, but we'll get to that later... by Chad Eastham

 This book is in my top 50 {saying a lot, considering the books I've read}
Check that, it is n my top 15. This book helps teenagers like me with a lot of that mushy love stuff. Mix that with Chad Eastham's quick wit and hilarious analogies, and you have a great book. This book conveys the main topics of what dating is, dumb dating mistakes that smart people make, tips for what to look for on a date, how it is really a good thing to be "just friends" How to be happy, how you can make your life miserable, and my favorite chapter, "The problem with falling in love with mythical creatures." It has some great information. What do guys want? What do girls want? Why are girls so emotional? Why would a vampire make a bad boyfriend? He answers all these questions among many others, and he does so with a comedic viewpoint along with that of an inspired Christian.

I really liked that Chad was a Christian, and this made his views very similar to mine. He also was not super pushy, and said that dating was not the best when you are in high school. My favorite chapter, "The problem with falling in love with mythical creatures" focused a lot on why people {girls especially} seem to fall in love with seemingly creepy figures. There were parts of the book I {literally} laughed out loud. My mom would look over from the computer and stare at me. I won't spoil it for you, but he gives the scenario of a vampire asking out a girl. Oh.my.lands. Funniest thing ever.

I highly encourage anyone looking for a good read to read this.

Sincerely,
P.S. Booksneeze provided me with a free copy to review, they did not ask that I write a positive review and the opinions are only my own :)

Major Blessing

I think there is something I should tell you all; I am 5'9". That is pretty tall if you haven't guessed. This means that if I wear high heels, I am 6'. That's really tall y'all. I have totally embraced my tallness, and I like the look of high heels {most of the time, though their are a few... interesting, pairs. } So I decided to go to a cheap shoe store that my younger sister buys high heels from all the time. So I went into the store, and found an adorable pair of black heels...that weren't in my size. Did I forget to mention I have size 10 1/2 to 11  feet? It makes a difference. Anyways, they only went up to a 9 in {all} the shoes, except one awfully terrible pair{ someone say blah}. So, I decided that since nowhere made high heels in my size, that I gave up, and would simply wear flats.

   Until today that is. My {awesome} cousin came over to my house, and brought me a bout a million {give or take about 999,990}  and she has big feet, and is tall... Like me! So I try them on and they all fit {flawlessly}! Which brings me to this post. I would like to share my joy with you all, so I took a few pictures of the shoes :)

Here they are:
 Can someone say awesome! I can. {Awesome}

 These these are heels{about 2 inches} Aren't they  splendifferous?

 If  you know me well, you will know how big of a deal these are to my. Oh.My.Lands.

 A {adore} the pattern on these. Adore.

 I love the wedge heel :)

 I {love} the rose etching on these

 She accidentally left the other one at her house, but isn't it fabulous!

Ok :) I think I am going to start putting a question at the end of my posts, Please answer :)
Do you wear heels?
Sincerely,
Libbi H.
